Art that makes a difference: Photos from The Works

Here are some pics I took from The Works fest. Adrian Louden and Aaron Paquette painting a conceptual art piece based on cultural awareness on poverty. I will be posting up the video later in the next couple of weeks. I've been on this documentary binge and I'm thinking of putting together my documentary work later this year.

Dylann Roof's Burger King Meal Proves A Devastating Point

Domestic Terrorism And The Theory Of Divide and Conquer

A lot has happened in the past couple of days regarding race relations in  good ol Amerikkka. Add
domestic terror to the list and you have an episode Law And Oder mixed with a bit of classic 90's
"Geraldo" talk show. The attack in Charleston, and racial identity with a NAACP member who pretended to be African American are in the cross hairs of the media.

For instance race relations is a big selling point for media outlets such as; Fox News, CNN and MSNBC.   Rachel Dolezal (white female)  and her "I'm a black woman struggling for equality in Amerikkka," at the same time she was holding back other minorities in her collage classes that she teaches, because their not Hispanic enough or black enough. Don't get me wrong she did do a lot of positive things in the black community, but what concerns me is why does she have to lie about her racial identity in the first place? Her folks told the media she is full European with no trace of African in her bones, followed by saying she is the master of deception.  I agree with that since the public is going bananas about her story. Technically she is using her mastery  skills to fool the pubic, because everyone is feeling her story. I mean if you identify with another race when you have no connection with that race in your DNA all power to you, but when you do it  to gain success in a career to advance you in society is odd. My final thoughts on Rachel is being black is a convenient commodity for her when she needs to push her career, and I find it sad that she is spinning the press to further it. Which bleeds into my next story.

Chareleston shootings  in  South Carolina is a sad and heart breaking tragedy. A follower of white supremacy walked into a church and gunned down 9 innocent African Americans in cold blood. May they rest in power. I'm not going to mention the shooters name, because he doesn't deserve the attention. What upset me was the aftermath that followed. Online you tube commentators took the opportunity to politicize the killings blaming Leftist and Right Wingers to further their own political agenda's. This is a typical thing in Amerikkka, because every action that involves murder needs to be blamed on a political group for it's faults. I call this shocking denial in American society because Americans can never believe how violent acts can happen in their own backyards when it's easy and safe for them to blame outside evils.  Domestic terror is a major threat to modern society since the early 20th century. And it saddens me how people react to violent acts but at the same time ignore these acts when it happens in other countries by westernized governments. For example Mark Dice(youtube commentator) and Alex Jones make bold claims in their conspiracy theories. These men blame violent video games, movies etc. But if you look at acts such as Charles Whitman( shot and killed people from a clock tower in Texas in 1966) case, violent videogames did not exist or films with that level of violence of the modern day. These people are living in Shocking denial, they can't accept that people are just pure evil and love the notoriety that comes with mass murder. The shooter in Charleston did this for hate, notoriety and he wanted to make a statement.

I'm not an expert, but I truly believe an agenda is at work with these two cases that are dominating the headlines. One of them is to create a racial divide while the other is using race as a way to gain attention for a career. I find these events important and interesting, because it marks a time in our society that race is and will always be a major stake in who we are in the 21st century including where we are going!
